You must add the sand and rocks in the first, then the cycle begins anew. If you try cycling the tank before adding sand and rocks, then the tank has just got a new bike and add all the animals, which will probably die.

Cycle will normally last 3-4 weeks, but may take longer. "It must always test the water.

For fish, I suggest you stay in the amount of a maximum of 2-3 fish ... accordance with their respective size classes. You can get a Yashi goby and pistol shrimp pair, a clown fish ocellaris or percula clown fish, and maybe a small fish. Think keep in mind, water changes in this configuration.

Frankly, the more the reservoir, the better the cycle and the easiest way is to conserve the fish. You will not be able to keep everything small tank, if you want a saltwater tank.

The smaller potential pool of salt water should be a 40g. Everything else will get very difficult to maintain, and we will have trouble, everything is alive. Moreover, in the larger tanks more storage area!
